I’ve been in France now for just over a month and I have made a new friend for life.
Zara is an amazing clothing store that is apparently very well-known already, but here I am just discovering it now.
So imagine this, I arrive in France, bright-eyed and bushy tailed (and jet lagged and hungry) excited to experience the sights, the smells, and of course the fashion from one of the world’s best known sources. Then, I’m told that I must go to Zara because “it’s cheaper here.” Then I fall in love and give all of my money to a clothing store. I bet you knew how that was going to end.
Anyways, I’ve gotten quite a few things from Zara, but I wanted to
show off highlight just some of my haul so you can see how this store has hooked me up to blend right in with les français:
Up first is this Polo Neck Sweater.
Turtlenecks are IN. When I realized this I was sad because I’ve spent most of my life actively hating them. But, the French make them look so good, I had to try one. Though it wasn’t on sale, it wasn’t too expensive and it is sooooft and I look really good in it so I can’t wait to try it out in different combinations with some of my other pieces.
And here we have my favorite coat ever.
I have been dying to get my hands on a knee length coat for quite some time. I saw this Herringbone Knee-Length in the Zara location nearest me (normally 89 euro on sale for 69) and I knew I had to have it. But I resisted. Money is tight this semester (I don’t have a work visa), so I thought on it for a bit. About a week later, I found myself in a different Zara, where I saw the same coat, and after spending a full week thinking about this coat, I decided to go ahead and buy it, only to find out it was down to 59 euro (a steal in my mind). I am very happy.
Note: The coat pictured here is double-breasted, but mine is single (which I prefer).
